A Message from the President

Thank you for choosing to explore the NW Orange Republican Women, Federated website! This website has been continually recognized as superior by the National Federation of Republican Women.

I am so honored to be chosen as the president of this wonderful organization for the next two years. We have come a long way in four years; the women and men of NORWF have so much to be proud of. We helped elect local Republican candidates as well as those in state and national races. As a grassroots organization we are the feet on the ground handing out literature, the voice on the telephone urging a vote for a Republican candidate and the person staffing a local campaign office or waving signs at election time. We also were instrumental in hosting part of the National Federation of Republican Women’s convention in Orlando in 2009.

In 2010 we have more work to do. All seats in the U.S. House of Representatives and one-third of the seats in the U.S. Senate are up for re-election. We will be doing our best to make sure that those seats are filled with Republicans. In addition, we have two members running in the Apopka city election in March.

We will also be focusing on our other endeavors; our Americanism projects, such as teaching the history, etiquette and proper folding of the flag of the USA; our Adopt-A-Soldier project where we send care packages to our “adopted” soldier to share with those fighting around the world to keep us safe at home; the Alice Beth Miner Memorial Scholarship Fund which provides scholarships to deserving students; keeping abreast of local and national issues; providing informative and interesting speakers at each month’s meeting; partnering with other Republican clubs and organizations to offer assistance when needed; continuing to register voters; and, growing our membership.

NORWF wants YOU! Enjoy our website, download a membership application, fill it out, mail it in and become part of this very dynamic organization. Come visit a meeting or contact us for more information. We are “Women Making A Difference”.

With Thanksgiving for our blessings today and Hope for our future,

Linda Laurendeau
